Moroni Morrison Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 24 to Oct. 31, 2015.
Moroni James Morrison
Sept. 10, 1978 - Oct. 21, 2015

Jimmy was born at home in Park City, Utah, on September 10th, 1978, and passed away at the home he loved at Rockland Ranch (south of Moab, Utah) on October 21st, 2015. He attended Park City High School, where he played football and was a founding member of the first Park City High School hockey team. He made many lifelong friends during this time.

Following High School Jim attended Utah State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He was working on his Master's degree when he became ill.

He worked as a postal contractor for many years, a postal employee, and as an accountant for a local CPA firm in Moab.

Jimmy loved his home in the heart of Canyonlands, Utah, where he enjoyed many adventures with his good friend Enoch Foster.

While always a religious person, he became very dedicated to his Mormon fundamentalist faith in his early twenties. He loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He served his remaining days living a righteous life according to his convictions.

He was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma in 2006 and bore this burden with remarkable dignity and strength through his passing. His loving wives were ever at his side with sweet care and tenderness.

From his wife Anazella: "Our beloved husband and wonderful Papa Moroni Morrison -- truly loved by all who knew him. Singing praises to our Heavenly Father, he transformed our hearts with his loving and tender words that spoke the wisdom of God. Love always, your loving wife, Anazella."

From his wife Melinda: "Besides being a devoted father, brother, husband and friend, Jimmy was a friend to all. He had a special way of drawing people in. He was dependable, loyal, trustworthy and a confidant. He had a sharp mind and a gift for problem solving. He believed that a job worth doing was worth doing right, which made him a valuable employee. Every task that he took on he did with precision and care. He had a wonderful sense of humor."

Jimmy is survived by his wives Melinda and Anazella, his children Emily, Gabriel, Robert, Elissa, Elizabeth and Matthew; his parents Scott and Rachel Morrison; his other mother Launa Morrison; his nine brothers: Scott, Abel, Seth, Alex, Peter, Samuel, Michael, Jeffrey and Paul; and his three sisters Celeste, April and Patricia.

Funeral services will be held Sunday morning, October 25th, at 11:00 am, at Rockland Ranch. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services. Burial will be at the Rockland Ranch cemetery. Directions can be obtained by emailing [email protected]

Dear friends, family, and my dearest papa, I miss you so much. I can't stop thinking about how much you've been there for me when I fell to a low point in my life. Even in the worst of times, you've always had a smile on your face; I've never once herd you complain in my entire life, which has been about 12 years of knowing you. I still hear your voice singing in our house at times, and I hear your laugh in Matty's. I will make sure your son knows who you are, and how good you were to all of us. I promos I will take care of mom. And I promos to stand up for my sister, even if she's a pain in the butt at times. As the oldest in my side of the family, I will take care of them.
Thank you guys for all of your support, and comfort; you have no idea how much better I felt when I saw your comments! I fell apart just reading half of them! Also, thank you whoever made it to the funeral, there was way more people than I thought there would be, and that very prospect makes me feel awed of how many people he met and helped.
Rest in Peace, papa,
luv, one of your daughters :)

My sincere condolences to the Morrison family. Jimmy was my son, Rick's, close friend. They so enjoyed playing baseball together and football in our front yard in Highland Estates. Jimmy was always such a polite, caring and kind young man and I am sure these traits stayed with him as he became a loving, caring husband and father. My heart goes out to Scott, Rachel, Launa, Celeste, April, Tricia and the rest of this wonderful family, especially his wives and his children. Much love to all. God Bless. RIP Jimmy.
