I just heard of Sundar's passing earlier this year and am deeply saddened. I want to express my deepest sympathies to his family and let them know what an inspirational teacher, scientist and leader he was. I trace my own passion for physics to conversations I had with him when I was an undergraduate student at Carleton in the mid-1970's. I try to pass on his inspiration to my own students - he'll live on in future generations of Canadian physicists!

As my PhD supervisor, I knew Dr. Sundaresan for several years. He was very generous with his time and knowledge, and I will always appreciate his guidance.

Dear Bharathy and Family
We are saddened to learn of Sundars passing. He was always such a creative, compassionate person. I had the privilege of being a colleague during his entire stay at Carleton. We shall store away all the great memories.

Dear Bhartiya and family,
I was sad to learn about Dr. Sundaresan's sudden passing. He was a memorable individual. Saw him many times in the past, and always saw him cheerful and happy. Not only will family miss him, but friends and associates, as welll. May God, Sathya Sai Baba take him under his wings, and grant his soul eternal peace. Kai Shri Sathya Sai Baba.
