Ms. Yaseka Jones Obituary

Ms. Yaseka Tamika Jones was born October 4, 1975, in Greensboro, Alabama, the daughter of Ms. Julia Louise Jones and Mr. Willie James Jones. Yaseka graduated from Flint Northwestern High School in 1994. In 1995, Yaseka married Mr. Rashaun Shipp and began a family in Detroit, MI. Yaseka worked for many years in retail sales with Gardner White Furniture in Detroit, MI. She also worked as a healthcare aide in mental health. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and always had a vibrant, fun-loving, and generous spirit. Yaseka was baptized at an early age under the ministry of Rev. Denzel Green at Galilean Baptist Church located in Flint, MI.  


Ms. Yaseka Jones leaves to cherish her memory: Daughters, Aluxus Jones of Detroit, MI,  Mercedes Shipp and Camerie Shipp both of Warren, OH; grandson, Dakota Jones of Detroit, MI; Sister, Daphene Jones of Flint, MI; Brothers, Darrell Jones, Cornell (Keywana) Jones, Armak Jones, and Jiquon (Whitney) Jones, all of Flint, MI. Three Aunts, Dorothy (Kenneth) Simmons of Flint, MI., Lillie (Michael) Fields and Renana Norfleet both of Alabama. Two Uncles, Curler (Bobbie) Norfleet of Uniontown, Ala., and Richard Norfleet of Flint, MI. As well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends.


Ms. Yaseka Jones was preceded in death by, father and mother, Willie & Julia Jones, as well as uncle, William Norfleet.


The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Douglas Banks and the church family of Vernon Chapel A.M.E. Church of Flint, MI. As well as family friends Mrs. Jean Jackson and Mr. Cesar Salazar both of Flint, MI.


Many thanks to all relatives and friends for your encouraging calls, text messages, meals, cards, floral and monetary contributions.
