My sympathy goes out to the Murchison family. Treasure the special times spent with Murdo as you draw strength from the love of family and friends. May God's loving-kindness comfort and help you through this difficult time. (Psalm 119:50, 76)

I was sad to hear do Murdo's death, and was sorry not to be able to make it yesterday for the funeral. I remember the wonderful sense of humour, and the great stories he told in that beautiful, strong voice of his. I will always have great memories of the time our families spent together in Brazil. My thoughts are with you all at this time.

To Murdo's Family
We are going to miss Murdo greatly and express our condolences to you all. We have had many delightful conversations over the years. You should know how much his participation has meant to the St. Giles family. We have many stories to share but will only quote one here.
For some time we were struggling to resolve a persistent leak in the south roof of the church. However, Murdo, well up in his 80 s scrambled up on the roof, detected the source of the problem and fixed it. Just one example of his generous help.
Unfortunately, we are in Nova Scotia and cannot be with you tomorrow.
Our thoughts are with you.

Sincere condolences to all the Murchison's from these two old good friends. Every once in a while we would get a wonderful phone call from Murdo. He would want to know what Jack thought about some news report out of Brazil, and they would talk about everything else going on or going wrong in Brazil and the engineering world. Murdo had a great sense of humor and a wonderful mind. We have lost a good friend. With love to all the family.

Many fond memories were had with Murdo at our local coffee shop. He always had a smile and kind salutation along with a warm handshake. Every time I saw him he was challenging his seniorship by jumping on bicycle (2 wheeled & 3) in all seasons. He brought the message of "live your life to the fullest" to all of us. Ciao! Kind sir! & thank you.

We were so sad to hear of Murdo's passing but will remember him and miss him. He was a stalwart character, who never took the easy way out, for which we admired him greatly. Sadly, we are not In Ottawa on the 30th but we wish all of his family comfort in their grief.
