Muriel Boyd Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 14, 2024.
Muriel Roberta Boyd, a cherished Mother, devoted Wife, and accomplished professional, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, in her home in Danville, California. Born in San Francisco, Muriel spent her formative years in the Sierra foothills, nurtured by her parents, Robert and Grace Sinclair, alongside her older brother, Stanley.

In February 1954, Muriel married her high school sweetheart, Richard "Buzz" Boyd, embarking on a lifelong journey of love and partnership. Their early years were marked by Buzz's service in the Korean War, after which Muriel supported his academic pursuits while raising their children, Gregg and Kathy. Together, they shared a commitment to the medical field, contributing in various capacities over the years.

Muriel was a woman of creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. She delighted in arts and crafts with her children and engaged in home-based ventures, including Avon, jewelry sales etc. Her passion for financial planning emerged in the late 1970s, leading her to become a respected advisor in Contra Costa County. Her dedication to her clients was matched only by her devotion to her family, as she eventually stepped away from her career to care for Buzz during his battle with a Parkinson's type disease.

In her later years, Muriel required similar care, which she received in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family, Caregivers and her beloved cat who brought her much joy.

Muriel is survived by her Brother Stanley Sinclair, Daughter Kathy Boyd Little, Son Gregg (Joka), Grandchildren Christopher(Sydney), Michael(Demi) and John Angus Little, Step-Grandson Jordan Dekker and Great Grandchildren Amara and Elijah. She was predeceased by her husband, Buzz, in 2010. Her legacy of love, creativity, and dedication will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Please join us for Muriel's Celebration of Life at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Danville on Sat. Feb. 1st at 1pm.

I met Muriel through my friend Josie Hemisoth and it was a greatful day for me in 2008. Muriel helped me begin the journey to a retirement and financial stability. Her guidance and the rest of the Pacific Center family has allowed me to retire comfortably. Our Prayers for her and all the family.

I met Muriel through Stephen and even though she was not my financial advisor, she was very gracious whenever we saw each other in the office or at the annual dinner. She was well respected for helping her clients and I remember her clients telling me how she always had their interest first and foremost. Thank you Muriel for having made a positive impact for all your friends, family and clients.

Muriel Boyd was such a classy lady, in every way! She always had a smile on her face, and her favorite color was PINK! When I sold her home in Danville, everything was decorated in PINK! She will always be remembered as a wonderful person, who cared deeply about her family and friends! She was generous, gracious and very talented. She will be sorely missed, and I feel honored to have called her my dear friend!
With my deepest sympathy,
Helen Schmidt
