Auntie Moo has been a "love" in my life since I can remember. Although she was a cousin of my father, Jim Barrett, it was her friendship with my mother, Beth, that brought Muriel so deeply into our lives. She was so special to my family. I feel privileged to have known her and to have shared so many special moments with her. We will all miss her very much. Soar, dearest Snowy.

This amazing woman was years ahead of everyone else. A savvy businesswoman, with particular acumen for mentoring people, she provided perspective wisely.
Miss Muriel was an amazing part of my family for over 40 years. It does not do her justice to say ‘we have lost a friend' because truly, we now have a rent in our family fabric that may never be mended.
I have learned many lessons from her - from penmanship to grace and I will carry her with me always. I see her every day in the gifts she has given to me . How to treat others, how to treat yourself, and how to embrace those you love, those that love you.
“I see a beautiful city and a brilliant people rising from this abyss. I see the lives for which I lay down my life, peaceful, useful, prosperous and happy. I see that I hold a sanctuary in their hearts, and in the hearts of their descendants, generations hence. It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known.”
? Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities

I will miss you.

Muriel was the greatest gift as my god-mother in my life, I treasure that my mother thought so much about her to ask her. Both my brother Rhyon and I were blessed to love her and be loved by her. She had so many adventures and friendships that she cultivated, nurtured and shared with so many through her whole life. This lesson I value among so many that she taught me. She was a great person who was always honest, authentic and encouraging. I will forever treasure her advice, her values, and friendship. To quote some special people "the world has lost a amazing lady! She laughed, she loved and she welcomed all. Her energy was contagious", "a woman ahead of her time ". She will live in my heart forever and I miss her so much. I will do as she always said "one day at a time Shannan", just do that and enjoy the moments". My heart goes out to her relatives and so so many friends around the world. God bless to you all!
