Myra Lane Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 21, 2025.
Myra (Walker) Lane of Groton, MA, died in her home on September 10, 2025, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her children, Curt Lane (Patricia) of Dover, NH, and Susanne Lane Temple (Rick) of Newport, RI; her beloved grandchildren, Olivia Temple (Josh), Audrey Temple, Isabel Lane, and Brian Lane; and her devoted partner and love of her life, Benjamin Laramie of Pepperell, MA.

Myra was born on February 1, 1935, to Harry and Isabelle (Noone) Walker of Cleveland, OH. She received her Bachelor's Degree in English from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, where she began her professional career as an English teacher.

At the end of her career, Myra worked as a Circulation Assistant at the Pepperell Library, where she was employed for many years and formed many lasting friendships.

A lifelong lover of language and literature, Myra was never shy about sharing expertise in English grammar. She was a fearsome Scrabble player until the end of her life.

Myra never missed an opportunity to practice her Spanish or French, whether it was with her language exchange group or with unsuspecting people on the street.

She was a passionate traveler, especially drawn to Spain, England and Mexico.

Myra was an animal lover who cherished birding and doting on her two grand-dogs, Georgia and Abby. Myra was also a passionate gardener who took great pride in tending her extensive gardens.

Myra's warmth, generosity and kindness will always be remembered by her family and friends.

On October 19, an open house in Groton, MA is planned to celebrating Myra's life. If you would like to attend, please email [email protected] for more details.
