Myrna Pitts Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 18, 2025.
Myrna Williams Pitts, a vibrant soul known for her artistic talents, deep spirituality, and boundless love, passed away on September 10, 2025. Born on June 7, 1934, in San Francisco, Myrna's life was a testament to her passion for creativity and her loving heart. A talented singer and actress, Myrna graced the stage in many amateur musicals. Her love for music began in childhood with the piano, and she grew to become a gifted pianist. Her artistic pursuits extended to painting, where she was a self-taught artist whose works were exhibited in several local galleries. She was a proud member of both the Morro Bay Art Association and the Cayucos Art Association.

Myrna's deeply spiritual nature guided her through life. In the past she was a member of the Rosicrucians. After years of searching for a church, Myrna and Jim enjoyed attending Hope Church in Paradise, California led by Pastor Stan Freitas. Her caring and giving spirit touched everyone she met. She was always the first to offer a helping hand, whether to her friends and family, her co-workers, or the elderly and disabled residents of the Anderson Hotel in San Luis Obispo, where she worked alongside her beloved husband, Jim.

Myrna's radiant smile lit up every room. She loved with her whole heart, and everyone she met became a friend. She cherished her family and friends but the love of her life was her husband, Jim Pitts. The two were frequently seen dancing arm-in-arm at local events, a beautiful picture of their shared love. Myrna will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing her.

Myrna is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Jim Pitts. Her brother Brian Williams and his family. She leaves behind two daughters: Valerie Swearingen and family, and Georgia Freitas and family. She was also blessed with three stepchildren: Rebecca Mastrangelo and family, Denise Morse and family, and James Pitts Jr. and family.
