We´ll never forget "Mike" & Susan and their kids as nearby neighbors on Briarwood Drive in Short Hills when we bought our first home with a newborn only 10 days old when we closed on the "fixer upper" home across the street. Ten happy years brought our family size up to 3 active kids and it took the imminent arrival of #4 to prod us onward to Somerset County.
Laurie & Larry, your dad was one of the funniest and warmest human beings we´ve met. And our kids looked "up" to you as almost older cousins on the block. It´s a sad truth that retirement to the Far West keeps us out of the loop of news about dear ones from long ago. (Although we get the Millburn Item by mail.) I last spoke to your dad back around 2009. Topic: wedding stationery for Elia´s nuptials then in planning stages. He steered me "just right" to resources and then wanted to talk "Midwestern State Fairs" .... he´d only fairly recently started going out to Iowa´s Fair and pronounced them amazing! Still remember some of the highlights of our chat which found me in Sun Valley at the calling end.
He´ll be cherished by those who knew him for a long, long time. (And yep, he was occasionally tripped up by Ohio vs. Iowa vs. Idaho - bingo!) ... 100% an East Coast boy. His memory a blessing.
