Josephine Marie Ermakow passed away at the home of her daughter Patricia Jakobs on March 2, 2013. She died quietly in her sleep surrounded by her loving family and cared for by Hospice of Wake County. She was born Josephine Casentini on June 17, 1923 in Meknes, Morocco and served as a radio operator in the French Army during World War II. She was married for 50 years to Walter Ermakow, a career Navy man, and traveled the world working for the Navy Exchange System. She and Walter settled down in Virginia Beach, VA where they lived for over 30 years. She is survived by her three sisters Jeanne and Marie-Claude Casentini and Antoinette Audibert, one brother Jean Casentini, her daughter, Patricia Jakobs, son-in-law Bob Jakobs, three grandchildren, Eugene Godfrey, Josephine Dillon, and Christopher Godfrey and several great grandchildren. She will be interred at Raleigh Memorial Park. May she rest in peace.
