ANTIGNANI N. Edwin Antignani, age 85, of Trumbull, died Saturday, April 4, 2009. His beloved wife of 47 years, Helen Patricia (Rekas) Antignani and daughter, Nancy Lynn Antignani preceded him in death. Born in Bridgeport, to the late Angelo M. and Elizabeth Cantore Antignani, he graduated from Central High School and began studies at the University of Connecticut but was called to serve in the Army during World War II. While in the service, he was recognized as an accomplished marksman. Following his tour of duty, he returned to UCONN and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1949 and a Juris Doctor of Law degree in 1951. While at UCONN, he was elected to the Board of Student Editors of Connecticut Bar Journal, played on the football team and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and the Newman Club. He was the founding partner of Antignani and Antignani Law firm which later became Antignani and Maresca, Bridgeport, where he practiced law from 1951 through 1994. In 1956, he was elected President of the Loyal Order of the Sons of Italy. Edwin was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, he loved to golf, bowl, cook, garden, read and have breakfast with his buddies. He was a member of Tashua Knolls Senior Club and an active parishioner of St. Theresa Church, Trumbull. His family, the community and a large number of dear friends will sorely miss him. he is survived by a daughter, Deborah and her husband, Dr. Christopher Inglese, of Delafield, Wisconsin; five sons, Nicholas Antignani and his wife, Marilyn, of Columbia, Gregory Antignani and his wife, Judy, of New Haven, Thomas Antignani of Washington, DC, Attorney Steven Antignani of Trumbull and John Antignani of Trumbull; two brothers, Ernest Antignani of Washington, D.C. and A. Mario Antignani and his wife, Louise, of Las Vegas, Nevada; nine grandchildren, Lindsay Kresge and her husband, Shane, Lauren, Christopher, Eric and Matthew Inglese, Cori, Kiera and Carli Antignani and Emma Antignani; three great grandchildren,Ayden and Elizabeth Kresge and Dominick Inglese and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main St., Stratford. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Ed's memory to either the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, PO Box 4527, New York, NY 10163; Mary Knoll Society, Dept. WEB, PO Box 307, Maryknoll, NY 10545-0307; or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
