Michelle Moore Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jun. 3 to Jun. 4, 2009.
MOORE, Michelle It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Michelle Moore (nee Ogrady). Michelle passed away on June 1, 2009 at the age of 50 years with her loving family by her side after a courageous and graceful fight with cancer. Michelle is adoringly remembered by her devoted husband and best friend, Tom; as well as their three beautiful children Max, Taylor and Quinn; and family pet, Ferguson. She will be eternally missed by her parents Nestor and Gerry Ogrady; her siblings Lois McGillivray (Doug) and Mark Ogrady (Marla); her brother-in-law Bill Moore (Carol) from Calgary; and her sister-in-law Linda Moore from Toronto. She will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her loving sister Colleen. Michelle was born on April 27, 1959 in Regina. She grew up in Regina and was active in many events within the community, especially when they involved her children. Another passion of Michelle's was her job as Senior Vice President of Operations at Greystone Capital Management. She was one of the originals at the company and cherished her time spent there with many she considered very close friends. Michelle was a person with a lot of spunk. She pursued what she believed in whether it be for her family, kids activities, her work or her shoe shopping. Her passion and determination were something that served her very well in her battle with cancer and was evident through to her last moments. Something we will all fondly remember from Michelle is if you aren't with me, then get out of my way. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 3239 Garnet Street, Regina, SK on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Regina Optimist Dolphin Swim Club, Lawson Aquatic Centre, 1717 Elphinstone Street, Regina, SK S4T 3N1. Family and friends are invited to sign the online book of condolences at www.regina-memorial.ca . Arrangements entrusted to

To the Moore and McGillivray Families:
It has taken me some time to think of what to say. I always thought so highly of Michelle - she was so smart, fun and full of smiles and energy. She truly is a hero to your family and everyone she knew. Michelle left you too soon and life is not fair, but her life was good because you were all in it. It is important for you all to remember that Michelle knew that she was truly loved by all of you. God Bless all of you. Heather McInnis

To the O'Grady family and the Moore family-I am an old friend of Michelle's,going back to Pius and Marian H.S., right through till we were 18 and went our separate ways. Seeing her death notice today brought so many memories and crazy rememberances to the front of my mind, it is difficult to comprehend this news. I am so happy that she found so much in life to continue with that boundless energy and humor she always had.

I had the privilege to know Michelle through her work at Greystone - her hard work, perseverance, loyalty and sense of humour were constant. From what she shared with me of her family - of which she was so proud - these traits were abundant in her personal life as well. My sincere condolences to her family, friends and colleagues.

I was absolutely shocked this morning to hear of Michelle's passing. Having lost touch for many years, I have often wondered how things were with her life. I am very happy to read in the other entries that Michelle continued to live an energetic and happy life filled with the love of family.

I wish to express my heartfelt sympathy to the Ogrady and Moore families as well as to friends and colleagues. I am sorry that I can't share in the celebration of Michelle's life on Saturday, as commitments have me away, though my thoughts will be with you and in the days to come.

My deepest sympathies at this very sad and difficult time. I had the priviledge of working with Michelle when Greystone moved into the Alberta market - and she came to Edmonton to assist with the transition. She left a lasting impression with her bubbly personality, superior work ethic, and her well-known loyalty and love for her husband and children.

Dear Tom, Taylor, Max and Quinn, Mr. and Mrs. O'Grady (and family),

It's been a few years since Michelle and I last sat down for lunch at the Hotel Sask. It's been even more since she last picked me up in 'Moose' the rust-brown ford-x-cop car Michelle said, to drive us to University. With a scraper in hand (for the inside windshield ice) and one foot on the gas and the other on the brake (the accelerator liked to stick) Michelle piloted us to school in record time all the while sending us into fits of laughter at the latest outrageous epic adventure. Michelle was indeed larger than life and life will not be the same without her. Thankfully she has made all our lives so very, very rich---such a loss and such a gift. I know that she will remain very near (in so many ways) to her beloved family. My very sincere condolences at this time of profound loss. Kathy Hunter, Edmonton, Alberta

To the Moore and O'Grady families, my condolences.

Michelle and I were fast friends way back in elementary school. Many happy hours were spent in the O'Grady home getting into as much trouble as possible. Memories include Mark's trumpet playing in the background (I remember "The Flight of the Bumble Bee"), enjoying Mrs. O'Gray's homemade porridge breakfast, fun birthday parties with lots of games, family rosary and trying the pickled herring offered by Mr. O'Grady.

I see someone else has had the same experience...Michelle has been in my thoughts of late with so many fond memories. Michelle was the one, afterall, who really explained the birds and the bees, as she had carfully researched the material in the home encyclopedia while on a sick day. Her fearlessness, endless energy and enthusisam is what I remember most. I so missed not knowing her as an adult.

Tom & Family

I worked at FMC many years ago and spoke with Michelle several times on the phone, only once did we meet. She was such fun and left a great impression on me. I was particularly struck with how deeply she loved her family. Oddly all these years later Michelle has been in my thoughts lately, I can't explain why. Then this week I recieved the sad news. All I can think is the Universe works in strange and mysterious ways. Michelle's spirit must be reaching out to us all. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May the warmth and richness of your memories keep her in your hearts forever.

God knew that she was suffering
That the hills were hard to climb,
So He closed her weary eyelids
And whispered, Peace be thine.
Away in the beautiful hills of God,
By the valley of rest so fair,
Some day, we know not when,
We will meet our loved one there.
