Nadine Steedman Obituary
(nee COOKE)
Peacefully, at her home in Kleinburg, on Monday, February 9, 2015, at the age of 70. Beloved wife of Al for 47 years. Loving mother of Mark (Olivia), Paul (Sarah) and Darren (Kelly). Proud grandmother of Benjamin, William, Colin, Ethan, Ainsley, Courtney, Heather and Everett. Dear sister of Fern Wylie (Jim). She will also be missed by her extended family and many friends. Nadine was a registered nurse who practiced as an operating room nurse at Peel Memorial Hospital and the Humber River Regional Hospital most of her career. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy. 10, N. of QEW), on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Eden United Church, 3051 Battleford Rd., Mississauga, on Friday, February 13, 2015, at 11 o'clock. For those who wish, donations may be made to the ALS Society of Canada or to the Sunnybrook Foundation, ALS Clinic. Online condolences may be made through

We were deeply saddened to hear of Nadine's passing. She was so courageous in her battle with ALS. I will always treasure our friendship that spanned our 70 years. Such wonderful memories of growing up in Gorrie , expecting at the same time , to touring Wingham in Nadine's convertible.

Ruth Howes just forwarded me the sad news re Nadine , my public school classmate from Gorrie days..I have lots of fond memories from those days. As our paths crossed once since 1958 I was aware that we both were nurses, married "Al's " the same year, had 3 sons and that Sudbury was home to both of us in different time periods .
