So sorry to learn of Nancy's death. She and Bud were living in the dorm when I returned from Europe in fall 1968 and we got to know each other. Bud and I graduated from Florida Presbyterian College in 1969. I went to Vanderbilt for my Masters while Bud, Nancy, and the kids moved to Louisville for divinity school. I visited them there when I moved to the Chicago area. I was even on my way to Cincinnati for a visit just after the tornado hit there. I visited them in Ocala on my way back to Tampa to visit my family. I also visited Nancy in Jacksonville after Bud's death. When Nancy moved to Louisville, we talked about me visiting her there. Unfortunately, I sold my house and moved to an apartment in November 2024, so I couldn't take time for a trip to see her since then. I was hoping to plan a trip in the spring of 2026. I regret that I didn't get the opportunity to make that trip to see her. We spoke on the phone every once and a while and I will certainly miss our chats. I cannot come to the service this weekend, but I send all her family my condolences and my loving memories of Nancy and Bud and Sean.
My new address is: 2209 Abbott Martin Rd. Apt. 3-11, Nashville, TN 37215 if you are ever this way.

Nancy and I met when I took care of her in the hospital back in the 70´s. Nobody knows when one encounter can lead to a lifelong friendship. We bonded immediately and had a fruitful friendship over many years. Unfortunately life changes and circumstances got in the way of frequent contacts. For that I am sorry. But you will forever live in my heart. Love you Nance.

Nancy embodied the heart of Bellewood & Brooklawn. Through her faithful work with our Auxiliary, she turned compassion into action-organizing, encouraging, and showing up for Kentucky´s kids and the staff who care for them. She had a way of making everyone feel like a friend, and she could be found quietly noticing needs, offering a kind word, and reminding us that every child deserves to be seen, safe, and loved.
On behalf of Bellewood & Brooklawn, I´m deeply grateful for Nancy´s servant leadership and steady kindness. We will miss her laugh, her hospitality, and her unfailing belief in our mission. Our prayers are with her family and all who loved her.

She was my second mom and Bud my second dad. Neither were very opinionated, just kidding, but you always knew where they stood. Nancy had a heart the size of Texas as did Bud. Nancy will always have a prime spot in my heart. She will be missed by many but heaven is happy to add her to the Armstrong clan. I know it was one heck of a reunion, Nancy, Bud, and Sean.

Oh, the times we had, starting years ago at one of the Riverside senior residences. Cooking up great pots of this and that. Planting gardens and sharing stories. We did lead a charmed life!
