BALAS - Nancy (Knaff), 76, of Hyannis, MA and Basking Ridge, New Jersey died Wednesday, November 16, 2005 in Essex Pavilion, Hyannis. She was the wife of the late Rudolph W. Balas. She was born on February 10, 1929 in Newton, MA. She was the daughter of the late Francis V. and Irene (Duffy) Knaff. Mrs. Balas was a word processing equipment specialist for AT&T in Basking Ridge, NJ for 25 years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Senior Center of Barnstable, the Hyannis Yacht Club, and Curves for Women. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, interior decorating and playing scrabble. She leaves one daughter, Susan Sofranko of Basking Ridge, NJ; a grandson, Shaun Sofranko of Hyannis; a brother in law, Phil Balas of Pennsylvania; a sister-in-law, Josephine Geist of Pennsylvania; several nieces, nephews, cousins. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Xavier Church, 347 South Street, Hyannis, on Saturday, November 19th at 10 a.m. Her burial will be held on Tuesday, November 22nd at 1:00 p.m., in Hillside Cemetery, Woodland Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ. Her Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18th from 3-6 p.m., at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street, Hyannis, MA.
