Nancy Bowman, 85, of Whitehall Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 27, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Nancy was the daughter of the late Charles and Grace (Meitzler) Trumbauer, born on August 1, 1939, in Kutztown, Pa. Nancy graduated from Parkland High School in 1957, Albright College in 1961, and went on to a 36-year teaching career, teaching high school English, German and French, retiring from Northampton Area School District in June 1997. Nancy was a member of St Johns UCC Fullerton, actively participating in the life of that church with her many friends there.
Nancy was a lifelong learner, an avid reader, and was never short on sharing what she learned with others. She loved her many travels with her friends and family over the years, including many trips throughout Europe and the US National Parks.
Nancy was a resilient, strong yet loving and kind female role model, a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughters Susan (John) Weldner and Patti Schaffer; grandchildren Brian (Tara) Weldner, Abbey Weldner, Sarah (Jake Kerchner) Schaffer and Faith (Mason Boettger) Schaffer; great-grandchildren, Jayce, Ella, Amara and Gwen; brothers David (Roseann) Trumbauer and Robert Trumbauer; as well as nieces and nephews and a large extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law Doug Schaffer, her brothers Richard and Alan Trumbauer, and her sister Mary George.
Services officiated by Rev. Steven C. Davis will be on Wednesday April 2, 2025 at 2:00 pm in Saint Johns UCC Fullerton 575 Grape Street Whitehall, PA 18052, where her family will receive guests in the Church Parlor beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment will be private at the convenience of her family.
For those who wish to honor Nancy with a memorial contribution, her family suggests a donation to Saint Johns UCC Fullerton at the address listed above.

I have such fond memories of Mrs. Bowman & the times shared by this senior crew ( the Gitches, Somers, Madouses, Bowmans, Porvazniks, Harris´ etc). Such a close knit group. Remembering these gatherings makes me smile as I remember the laughter & fun they all had every time they would see each other. Sending many hugs to the family. She was truly a lovely lady. Xxxx
