Nancy Duvall Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 2, 2024.
In loving memory of Nancy Lynn Duvall, who was called home to the Lord on February 21, 2024, at the age of 56. Born on September 20, 1967, Nancy was a lifelong resident of Linthicum, Maryland, and a light to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her departure from this earthly realm took place at the University of Maryland Hospital, surrounded by her steadfast husband Rob, her cherished son Robbie, and her cousin Debbie, who stood by her in her final moments.

Nancy was a loyal employee at Walmart, where her presence was a daily blessing. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, as demonstrated by her dedicated service to Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was a proud alumna of Andover High School, Class of '85, and her commitment to her faith community was unwavering throughout her life.

Her love of Longaberger baskets and her collection, which she often showcased at home, was a testament to her appreciation for the simpler pleasures. Her adventurous travels once led her to the home of Longaberger baskets, in Ohio, where she met "Grandma Bonnie", of Longaberger fame, simply by knocking on her door and striking up a lengthy conversation. THAT… was how Nancy was, in so many ways.

Nancy's passing was preceded by those of her mother Doris, father Oliver, sister Candace, and brother Randy. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Rob, son Robbie and daughter-in-law Shannon, along with a host of relatives, close companions, and Walmart co-workers and customers. Her faithful beagle, Molly, will miss her deeply as well.

The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be offered in Nancy's memory to the Christian Women's Fellowship (CWF) of Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church. Donations may be addressed to LHUMC at 200 School Lane, Linthicum Heights, MD 21090,
Attn: CWF

A Celebration of Life will be conducted to honor Nancy Lynn Duvall's life, will be held on April 27, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Fellowship Hall @ Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church, 200 School Lane, Linthicum, MD 21090. The family cordially invites all who were touched by Nancy's love, grace, and enduring faith to gather in remembrance and tribute to a life that embodied the very essence of compassion and devotion.

I met Nancy when I started to date the next door neighbors son. She was the nicest person I had ever met. She was so upbeat and her smile did make you smile. I will always remember her this way as I am smiling now just thinking about her. I know she's up in heaven looking down on everyone she ever loved. I don't think she knew how many hearts she touched over the years of her life.

40 years ago today, March 18th, 1984, I met the greatest girl I´ve ever known, Nancy Bullen. We met at the old Hardee´s Restaurant in Burwood Plaza off of 648. A former co-worker of mine introduced us, at Nancy´s request! So, Nancy made the first move Nancy was handing out Turkey Bacon Club samples at the time and I remember chatting with her for what seemed like several hours. I must have consumed at least 6-7 of those samples during that time! We started dating soon after and were nearly inseparable for 40 years. After only a month... I knew I was going to marry Nancy I had never felt this way about anyone before. Later, Nancy told me she commented to her sister Candy, only one week after meeting one another, "I think I met the man I am going to marry!"
Candy laughed it off as nonsense and boy was she wrong! For the next almost 40 years... we did darned near everything together and were frequently out and about throughout the community. We were married in October 1986 and had a son, Robbie Duvall, in 1990. Nancy and I were really looking forward to this day... our 40th year meeting for the very first time. God willing, I hope to meet her again in heaven.

I always knew how much my wife Nancy was loved by family, loved ones, friends, and her WalMart Family... but had no idea as to just HOW MUCH & by HOW MANY folks really loved her. It has been a humbling experience to feel the love, support, kindness, compassion, and empathy from so, so many people.

My loss of Nancy has been devastating to me. I feel lost & lonely. Trying hard to have a purpose in my life. I must often try to be like Nancy as much as I can... while knowing that task will be difficult, if not impossible to do so. But, I will try my darndest. Nancy was always there with and for me... trying to smooth out my many many rough edges. Oh how I remember her "counseling" me on being nicer to folks. Now, I´m on my own May God help me. Nancy will always be the kindest, friendliest, and most compassionate human being I´ve ever known. Despite her many health issues throughout the years... she always remained upbeat. A truly remarkable woman. A much better person than I will ever be. I am so honored to have been married to her! Nancy, I love you forever.
Until we meet again ... Love, Rob

I remember Nancy being brought to our home while her mom , Aunt Doris, recovered from her birth. My newborn little cousin became my little baby doll ! I learned to change diapers and loved feeding her her bottles ! I rocked her to sleep for her nap and at bedtime . She was a sweet little girl and grew into a wonderful and kind person with an outgoing and engaging personality! She cared about others, and I truly loved her

I married Rob Sr´s cousin Eddie Jr and had the pleasure of meeting Nancy and Rob many years ago at the Hiles´ family reunions along with Aunt Peggy, Nancy´s mother in law. Nancy was a sweet soul and even over the years on Facebook we followed each other closely and always commented each other. Eddie and I will miss you Nancy. Sleep peacefully with our Lord, until we meet again.
