Nancy Ford Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 3, 2025.
Nancy Buckley Ford of North Bethesda, Maryland, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy was well known for her compassion, grace, kindness and love for family and friends. Her vibrant spirit and warm heart will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Life's simple pleasures brought her immense joy, such as sitting on the beach, spending a day in Annapolis and spending time with family and friends. Nancy's life was a tapestry woven with threads of unwavering love and selfless generosity. She had the greatest group of friends that brought her such joy.

She was born July 15, 1928 in Lexington, Massachusetts to Eugene and Agnes Buckley.

Nancy graduated from Lexington High School. She went on to attend Emmanual College in Boston, Massachusetts with a BS in Biology. Later in life, she contributed to the toxicology data network (TOXNET) at the National Institute of Health (NIH).

Nancy is survived by her devoted husband, Allen Gregory Ford; her children, Gregory Ford (Iris), Carol Ford Hersey (Michael) and David Gerard Ford and her devotion extended to her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jean Buckley Peper, and brother Matthew Buckley.

A Catholic Mass to honor her life will be held at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, at 10 am on 1/22/2025 at 917 Montrose Road, Rockville, MD.

Mrs Ford was a kind and loving woman. Carol and I went on many adventures with Mrs Ford, usually with Carol and I singing from the backseat and Mrs Ford telling us what wonderful voices we had. She was very welcoming to all who entered her house. She was involved with all we were doing. In later years you could tell how proud she was of her children and how much she loved them. It's been several years since I last saw her. She was still as kind, welcoming and beautiful. I will miss her.

"Mrs. Ford" as I knew her growing up was a beautiful, soft-spoken sweet mother and neighbor with a bright beautiful smile with kind spoken words! Carol´s mom was so kind to me when I´d see her, asking how the different ball games & sports teams were doing! Then I´d go play catch with David and we had our home team cheerleaders! She was so proud of her family and they surely were ROCK STARS for her! Sincere condolences! RIP. Love, hugs and strength to all... Barrie
