Nancy Eleanor Plemmons Galyean entered eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, September 5, 2025. Born in Buncombe County, North Carolina, on April 12, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Wayne Mitchell and Mary Evelyn Battle Plemmons of Asheville. Growing up Nancy attended Hominy Baptist Church and upon graduation she attended Mars Hill University. Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale James Galyean of Spartanburg, South Carolina, whom she nursed through significant health challenges for a number of years until his death.

In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Nancy faithfully served her church for decades in various ministries such as the women's ministry, choir and prayer ministry. Vocationally, she worked for Wachovia Bank in Asheville, North Carolina, First Baptist North Spartanburg, and started and operated Leisure Time Foods in Spartanburg for over ten years. After selling her family's interest in that business, she concluded her career with Thomas Glover Associates in Inman, South Carolina.

Nancy was a beautiful, strong lady who loved her family well and followed Christ faithfully. She ran her race and finished well. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son, James D. Galyean (Jenna) of Anderson, South Carolina, and daughter, JulieAnne Rouse (Blair) of Holly Springs, North Carolina; sister Elizabeth Poteat of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and grandchildren J. Mitchell Galyean, Sarah Mills Galyean, Eliza Grey Galyean, India Galyean, Porter Galyean, EvelynKate Rouse, EllaJane Rouse and ElisabethJoy Rouse, as well as many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at First Baptist North Spartanburg in Spartanburg, South Carolina after which the family will receive friends in the narthex.
