Nancy Gibson Green

Nancy Gibson Green, 92, of Old Saybrook, passed away April 7, 2025. She was born on January 29, 1933, in South Glastonbury to the late Chester Raymond Gibson and Rachel Barber Gibson.

She was predeceased by her brother, Graham Gibson, of TX. She was also predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Robert E. Green. Together, they traveled the world extensively, and when home, Nancy's passions were cooking, making vibrant quilts, gardening, and tending to her beloved cats.

Nancy leaves her three children. Gregory D. Konney and his wife, Cynthia, of Concord, N.C., Mark G. Konney and his wife, Cynthia, of Niantic, and Elizabeth Sommers, of Niantic. Also, six grandchildren, Ryan Konney, of Oakland Park, FL, Elizabeth Goldfield (Erik), of Charlotte, NC, Morgan Becraft (Justin), of Newington, John G. Sommers, Jr. (Emily), of South Glastonbury, Rachel Sommers Ash (Marc), of South Glastonbury, and Matthew G. Sommers of Boston, MA.

In addition, she leaves five great-grandchildren, Abigail and Axel Goldfield, of Charlotte, NC, Jackson Becraft, of Newington, John G. Sommers, III (Tripp), of South Glastonbury, and Roman Ash, of South Glastonbury. Also, three step-children, Marc Green (Sheryl), John Green (Norma), and Candace (Jim) Krause.

Nancy will be remembered as a gentle, kind, loving soul, never to be forgotten.

A private, family celebration will be held to celebrate her Life.
