Nancy Irene Hawkins

Nancy Irene Hawkins (Saunier), aged 86, passed away on May 9, 2025, in Delaware, Ohio. Born on December 1, 1937 to Burley and Vera (Craig) Saunier in Loudonville, Ohio, Nancy was a lifelong resident of the area and a respected member of her community.

Nancy graduated from Loudonville High School in 1955. Throughout her career, she supported the local economy by working at several businesses including Weidner Pontiac, Flxible Corporation; after moving to Delaware, Ohio, she worked at New Method Cleaners, before moving on to Plaza Pontiac in Delaware, until her retirement. Her work ethic and dedication to her roles were well-regarded by her colleagues and the community.

A member of Zion Lutheran Church in Loudonville, Nancy encouraged her children to become active in the church.

Traveling with her late husband, Charlie, and solving word puzzles were among Nancy's favorite hobbies. These activities brought her immense joy and satisfaction, showcasing her love for adventure and her sharp mind.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Donavan J Hawkins; and her husband, Charles Hawkins, Jr. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty (Haudenschild) Poston (David) of Rushville, Ohio; her son, Robert S Hawkins, Delaware, Ohio; her grandson, Donavan J Hawkins, Jr (Christina), Newark, Ohio; 3 great-grandchildren, Nolan, Mila, Cora Hawkins, and her brother and sister-in-law, Robert Saunier (Beverly), Wooster, Ohio.

In line with her wishes, there will be no services. She will be remembered fondly by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
