NANCY HROMADKA Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 24 to Mar. 29, 2023.
NANCY JENELL HROMADKA Nancy Jenell Hromadka, of Hico, TX, passed away March 15, 2023, with her family by her side. Born October 17, 1951, in Dallas, TX, to Guy and Jo Maree Marble, Nancy personified what it means to be a child of God, daughter, wife and mother. A guiding light to many and a friend to all, Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Jo Maree Marble. Nancy is survived by her father, Guy Marble; her husband, Bennie Hromadka; her children Shaun Bryant (Maria), Stacy Bryant (Wendy), Christie Brown (John), and Clayton Hromadka (Marissa); her grandchildren, Hunter Bryant, Hannah Brown, Catherine Bryant, Matthew Brown, Madison Bryant, Roland Bryant, Isabella Hromadka and Luke Hromadka. Nancy believed in family values and held her entire extended family in high regard. Nancy counted many others as family, if you ever encountered her then consider yourself amongst them. Her greatest attribute was making others feel comfortable and welcomed. A native Texan, Nancy, better known as "Granny" to those around her, enjoyed living a life serving and impacting others. If she wasn't sitting on her porch with her husband watching a sunset, or sitting with her sisters in law enjoying the waves of a lake as they crashed upon the shore, you could find her in her garden, or enjoying the company of her many animals. Her love for her family and friends shined bright, much like her Christmas tree every year. She held her book club in high regard and enjoyed their conversations as much as anything else. Nancy loved the Lord with all of her heart. A child of God, she regularly attended and served the Lord with purpose and passion including being a long time member of the church choir. An artistic soul, Nancy thoroughly enjoyed painting, drawing and doing puzzles. It wasn't a rare occasion for one of her grandchildren to request a painting for Christmas or a birthday, and she always obliged with a smile on her face. Landscapes, animals, sunsets, it didn't matter, Nancy saw the beauty in the world around her and had a talent for putting it on canvas. A field of sunflowers, or Texas wildflowers, would invigorate her soul and bring her beautiful smile to her face. Nancy loved to cook, and regularly canned many of the vegetables that she grew on her ranch. A fruit tree on her ranch never wasted its fruit, as she enjoyed making preserves for friends and family to enjoy. While all of that mattered greatly to her, perhaps her greatest treasure in life was her eight grandchildren. She cherished every moment she got to spend with each of them and never missed an opportunity to tell them how proud she was of them. Departing from Nancy's home never ended without her standing in the driveway waving the sign language sign for I love you. On March 15th, heaven gained an angel. To celebrate her ascension to heaven there will be a celebration of Nancy's life on Saturday, April 22, 2023 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Cowboy Church of Erath Country, located at 4945 U.S. Highway 67, Stephenville, TX.

Nancy´s grandma and my grandma were sisters. I didn´t get to see Nancy very often, but I always considered it very special when I did. She was so beautiful, but also so very kind and sweet. I pray the Lord`s comfort for her family. I know she was a blessing to many!-Jayne Howard Brown, daughter of Joan Howard, granddaughter of Ila Mae Wells, "Aunt Mae".
