Nancy & Leslie Akey Obituary
Throughout life Nancy and Leslie would do what they loved together, walk the streets of Burlington. Mile after mile, they so loved to walk. They also enjoyed creating beautiful gardens together at their home of sixty years on North Avenue.
Nancy also enjoyed long phone conversations with her sister Mary Lou, the company of her neighbor Hilda Carrier, weekend visits from her brother John & family, long rides & breakfast at JP's with sister Babe and Wayne.
Nancy married James Akey Sr in 1957 and went on to raise 5 children with him. She was predeased by her husband of 44 years in 2001 and by her oldest son James Akey Jr in 1998. Nancy is survived by her siblings Jean Lefevbre, Patty Mahaney, John, David & Richard Fisher. Nancy/Leslie are survived by children/siblings Cathy, Alan and Chris Akey.
A thank you to the University of Vermont Medical Center for the care and generosity shown to Leslie during her last months of life. Donations may be made in her memory to the University of Vermont Medical Center.
