Nancy Mattucci Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 29, 2025.
Bluffton - Nancy Marie Mattucci passed away peacefully, surrounded by her daughters and son-in-laws, on January 26th, 2025.

Nancy will be remembered for her constant laughter, fun-loving spirit, and being a fierce cheerleader of her loved ones. Her absence will be felt by all who knew her.

Nancy was a devoted mother of three daughters, Amy, Carley, and Haley, who were her greatest pride and joy. She adored each of their husbands, Taylor, Nick, and André, and the way each of them loved and supported her girls. She was the adoring "Nan" of her new granddaughter, Mallory, who brought her so much happiness. Nancy is also survived by her 104-year-old mother, Celeste Schweitzer, her sister, Patricia Salles, family, and countless friends who were touched by her generosity and joyful spirit.

Nancy loved the beach. She spent much of her childhood on the Jersey Shore, creating fond memories with her family at Cape Breton's beach parties and bonfires. Upon retirement, Nancy moved to Bluffton, South Carolina where she could access the beach and warm weather year round. It was here where she formed some of the strongest friendships of her lifetime.

True to her Italian roots, she showered her friends and family with love -and plenty of food. She was known to travel with a purse full of candy and show up to her daughters' dance recitals and horse shows with chocolate covered strawberries. She loved to host, and kept a pantry full of snacks with her neighbors' favorites. Those who know her best know she loved to snack on a soft pretzel in the middle of the night.

Nancy had a competitive side. She appreciated a spirited game of basketball, volleyball, and tennis, or a quieter night of checkers and cards. Recently, she found a new appreciation for the thrill of March Madness and watching college football, always cheering for Ohio State.

In accordance with Nancy's wishes, no public services will be held. Her daughters will honor her life by spreading her ashes at her favorite places to keep her memory alive in the locations she loved most.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Big Dog Ranch Rescue in her name. Nancy had a soft spot for animals - always agreeing to adopt any pets her daughters unexpectedly brought home. Her family takes comfort in knowing she'll be reunited with many familiar four-legged friends.

Nancy will be deeply missed, but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty of the places she held most dear.

Very sad to hear of your mom's passing. We were friends as kids in Elizabeth, spent time in Cape Breton and she was my maid of honor at my wedding. Gone too soon.

I am deeply sorry about your mom´s passing. She was a caring, fun loving lady who deeply loved her girls and was so excited to include Mallory as one of the girls. She was exceptionally kind to me throughout a year of surgery and recuperation and I am forever grateful for her "chicken parmigiana." Kathy Haas

Nancy was a really great person! She was a dream to work with and very passionate about her girls! She was so smart and kind. Believe me, it´s hard to work in the same school district which your children attend. She was always professional yet caring and would be very helpful and supportive to solve any problems dealing with computers for those of us who didn´t possess her skills that she shared readily! Her daughters shared her megawatt smile and her intelligence! She will always be sadly missed and fondly remembered. Rest in peace sweet angel! Your work here is done.

Very sad to hear of your Mom's passing. I knew Nancy from Cape Breton where we spent summers as kids. Later she was my high school prom date. A terrific person, gone too soon and will be missed.

Nancy remained one of my good friends for over thirty years. We laughed together often, through good times and bad. She was a shining star who will be greatly missed. My condolences to all three of her daughters, and to her precious granddaughter who now has a most devoted guardian angel.
