Dr Nancy ,helped me with terrible cystic acne, I had two bouts of it once when I was 16 and another when I was 19. Dr. Nancy was soo caring and kind and she told me I will take care of this ! Well she did and she saved my face from scars and I remember her saying how beautiful my skin was after treatment and I was so grateful and thankful for her and how wonderful she treated me. Dr Nancy was a beautiful soul and I will always remember her and what she did for me!

It was truly reassuring to have Dr. Nieland as our dermatologist when our sons were children. She was gracious and had such a calming nature. She was recognized for her excellence as a professional, and compassion as a person. She will be missed. May the God of all comfort support your family during this difficult time. Please accept my family's expressions of sympathy. Sincerely

Dearest Nieland-Fisher Family,
When I was a very young mother, my husband died of Melanoma and left me with 3 very small children. Going to the dermatologist was a nightmare for me because we spent 2 years in and out of their offices. Years later I met Dr. Nieland Fisher. She made bringing my children to the dermatologist very easy. She was compassionate and kind. She knew that I felt that my children and I were destined to get Melanoma, so she helped the anxiety level diminish over the years. When I heard that she was ill and was no longer going to be our doctor, it was devastating. Going to the office where she practiced has never felt the same since. We miss her very, very much. My deepest condolences.
Warmly,
Stephanie Davis

You and your family have our deepest sympathty in the death of Dr. Nieland. I want to share with you a story of how special and caring she was. My sister, who is a beautician, noticed small pimples on my mother's scalp. My sister suggested I call Dr. Nieland. Dr. Nieland suggested I bring my mother to her home to have her checked out. My mother could not believe that Dr. Nieland would see her at her home. On Dr. Nieland's examination, she said my mother had the beginning of shingles. Our family was so thankful to Dr. Nieland and her dedication to her patients. Her death is a loss to all of us. In deepest sympathy, The Palangio Family.

Dr. Nieland was the premier dermatologist in Pittsburgh for a number of years. Everyone recommended her. When she came into the room, she could diagnose the rash or whatever immediately. She caught my mother's skin cancer before it got worse. And she was always pleasant. How sad that she would end up with Alzheimers. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

In the years that I was fortunate enough to work for Dr. Nieland-Fisher she taught me the true meaning of grace and compassion. She was the most caring, generous and gracious person that I have ever known. I will always be grateful for everything she taught me and that we shared over the years. She made me into a better person for having known her. Each day she made the world a better place just by being her. I was very luck to have been able to call her my CPF. I truly loved her. She will be deeply missed by many, many people who's lives she touched so deeply. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

To the Family of Dr. Nieland-Fisher,
My sincerest condolences to you on the passing of Nancy. I had the privilege of being one of her patients when I was a teenager in the late 1970s, as did my sisters, brother and mother. We all loved her so much, she was always so kind and gentle and reassuring. I will never forget her smile as she told me to not hate my oily skin so much, that I'd be grateful for it when I was 40, and to always, always wear sunscreen! (She was right!) I have never since found another dermatologist that even came close to her!! She made the world a much more beautiful place, with her kind spirit and her expertise. She is greatly missed. I am so sorry for your loss.

To the Nieland-Fisher families; my condolences to all of you. Dr. Nieland-Fisher was my dermatologist when I was a teenager, (her office was in East Liberty then), she was so gentle, kind and made me feel very comfortable. I feel very fortunate to have had her as my doctor. I think of her often as these days our daughters are battling skin problems. May she rest in peace and may the sweet memories you have of her give you comfort and ease the pain of your loss. God Bless all of you.

Lovely, gracious and soft-spoken is my memory of Nancy.I met her through my work as a journalist many years ago but it was so easy to feel she was going to be a friend, not just an expert in her medical field once we met. My heart goes out to her family. We have missed her for such a long time.

To the Family of Dr. Nieland-Fisher
I have had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr. Nieldand-Fisher for over 30 years when her office was located in downtown Pittsburgh before she moved to Shadyside. Later, my daughter and granddaughter would also become a patient. I was always amazed at how she could just look at the problem area and know exactly what it was and how to treat it. Anytime someone would ask if I knew a good dermatologist, Dr. Nieland-Fisher was always my first and only choice. She will definitely be missed.
