Nancy Romano Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 12 to Nov. 13, 2002.
Nancy (Uliano) Romano, 91, of Wethersfield, died Sunday (November 10, 2002) after a long illness. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Sebastian Romano. A native of Solarno, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Luis and Mary (Ferrara) Uliano. She lived most of her life in Hartford, moving to Wethersfield 38 years ago. Nancy was a diligent worker and loving provider for her family. Her many employers included the Silex Manufacturing, Royal Typewriter, retiring from Colt's Manufacturing in 1974 after many years. Having difficulty dealing with retirement she insisted on working part time at Adrian's Bridal Salon and Capital Swimwear for several more years. She was a member of St. Augustine Church in Hartford and Corpus Christi in Wethersfield. She was a member of St. Ann Sodality, Corpus Christi Woman's Club, St. Anthony Society, and Christopher Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Canicattini Bagni Woman's Club, For-get Me Not Club, Barry Square Senior Citizens, and Wethersfield Senior Citizens. Some of her fondest memories were taking an active role and participating in the many activities and work associated with Hartford Columbus Day celebration. Nancy was admired for her ability to produce great trays of Italian cookies that she shared with family and friends. Her pizza and homemade pasta were delivered around town almost as frequently as Pizza Hut. She is survived by her son and daughter Richard and Palma Romano of Wethersfield, and many nieces, nephews and their families. Nancy was predeceased by her three brothers, Domenic, Anthony and John Uliano, and her two sisters, Pasqualina (Uliano) Rodeo and Angelina (Uliano) Ferrero. Richard and Pam would like to express their thanks for all the kindness and support family and friends extended throughout their moms extended illness. Funeral services are Thursday, November 14th at 9 am from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. Interment will follow in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Friends may call on the family TODAY, November 13, 4-8 p.m., at the Chapel.
