Nancy Schumacher Obituary
Nancy jumped head first into politics at the suggestion of a friend and after meeting Paul Wellstone. She was elected as the Sherburne County DFL chair, MN DFL Sixth Congressional Chair, and National Democratic Committee member. All the while, she worked a full-time job and raised her daughter alone in Elk River. Her daughter was her joy. Seeing her grow into an incredible woman was her greatest accomplishment, with being sober for 41 years being second. She moved to Florida in 2019 to "retire," which she did for a week. She started working at Miracle Toyota in Haines City in 2020. She leaves behind hundreds of friends and acquaintances and left an impression on everyone she met.
Memorials preferred to Bok Tower Gardens.

Nancy's Florida friends are heartbroken and have so many fun memories. Sea World and Disney outings, many wonderful restaurants, many Disney Democrats of Florida get-togethers. She will be missed.

I met Nancy during my father's campaigns. She was a wonderful person and I considered her a good friend. she was a shining light in this world and had the utmost integrity. I remember vividly many Wellstone parades with my friend and later lunches in Golden Valley.

Was so grateful to meet Nancy and her family on our honeymoon in the USVI and then to visit with her again in Florida a few months later. She was a delight, and I know she will be missed by many.

I have known Nancy for over 20 years, but I just truly got to know her over the last 5 years. I got to experience St. Thomas/St. John with her, her daughter Carol, her sister Carol and a mutal friend Erin. We all had an incredible time together and that trip will be one I will never forget! Nancy is a very special lady with a gigantic heart. You will truly be missed (MOM)!
