NANCY SMREKAR Obituary
Age 77, of Ross Twp., on Sunday July 21, 2013. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 9, 1936, daughter of the late Francis L. and Wilma (French) Shade; beloved wife of the late Robert F. Smrekar; loving mother of Lorrie (Al) Grundler, James (Maria) Smrekar, Lisa (Robert) Carlin and the late Robert (surviving spouse Tammi) Smrekar II; sister of Michael Shade, and Susan Gally; great aunt of Madelyn Bumba; also survived by 11 Grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Nancy was a Eucharistic Minister and retired CCD teacher at St. Sebastian's, a member of St. Teresa Players and volunteered with the Ross/WV EMS prior to becoming a registered nurse, upon retirement she became a substitute nurse for North Hills area schools. The family would like to express a very special thank you for the efforts of Gateway Hospice for their compassion and love, not only for Nancy, but all the family members. Family will welcome friends Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME INC., 388 Center Avenue, West View, PA 15229. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sebastian Church on Wednesday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers Nancy wanted donations as the Good Lord asks all of us to "Feed the Hungry and Clothe the Poor" in her memory. Nancy was one of the beautiful people, in heart, mind, and soul. She never had a bad word about anyone. You always need if you needed prayers Nancy was on your side. I'm going to miss greatly. She is now a beautiful angel in heaven, still answering and interceding for our needs. May God bless you in your time of sorrow.

Nancy was one of the kindest and most caring person I have ever met. I worked with Nancy at the high school where she was our substitute nurse. She loved every student that walked through the door with some kind of ache or pain. She made them feel special and loved. Nancy always prayed for my sick nephew and always put him on her prayer chain. My nephew is a walking miracle, and I always told Nancy it was all those prayers she and her friends did that helped my nephew get through a very serious illness. Nancy will be missed by so many that she touched with all the love she showed. God Bless Nancy! She was one very special lady! love, Judy Donatelli
