Nancy Stewart Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 9, 2024.
Nancy Ann (Keller) Stewart, 85, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on January 23, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born in Woodburn, IN to the late Edwin F. and Thelma M. (Hanenkratt) Keller. She graduated from Woodburn High School and went on to International Business College. After graduating, she worked as a legal secretary for a local law firm, then as a bookkeeper for her family businesses for the remainder of her career.

Nancy loved being with her family, friends, and pets and spending time with them in her country home and at the family lake cottage. She especially enjoyed seeing her grandchildren grow, and spending time feeding and watching the many birds that visited her backyard. Words cannot express how much she will be missed.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 63 years, Brent Stewart, sons Loren (Terri) of New Haven, IN, and Johnnie (Jayme) of Jackson, MI, and daughter Laura Schmeling of Bemidji, MN; grandchildren Jory Stewart, Lenora Peden, Morgan Dean, JJ Stewart, Bayli Stewart, and Colter Schmeling; great grandchildren Oliver and Luna Stewart; and brothers Robert and John Keller of Woodburn, IN.

Nancy was preceded in death by her infant daughter Julie Ann and her brother Edwin (Eddie) Keller, Jr.

A private family celebration of life will take place at a later date.
