I have read about Naomi in my book at highschool called "Passages 12". I also did a report for class. I chose Naomi's biography because her cause and her mission is the types of actions that inspires me. She had established a couple of hosptials and many programs to help orphan children in Guatemala, Vietnam and Cambodia. She is a REAL hero, and should be highlighted in the history books as a Savior of Children, Straight up!
=)
Bless Naomu Segal-Bronstein's soul. u dun kno.

My heartfelt sympathy to the Bronstein and Segal families in the loss of Naomi Segal-Bronstein. I have long admired the efforts, selflessness and courage that Naomi demonstrated in her work with children. May others come forward to carry the torch that Naomi lit, and use this light to help end the suffering of children in the world.

To the Bronstein family. Please accept my condolences on the passing away of your mother Naomi. I don't know if you remember me, Jo, and my son Benjamin, but I worked in Bangladesh, Guatemala, and Cambodia for/with Naomi. During those times, Naomi and I developed a deep and respectful friendship. I always admired her for her courage , strength and tenacity when it came to fighting for the rights of children to live a 'quality' life. Although I did not stay in touch with any of you, I did think of you often, and feel deeply saddened by her passing.
If you are thinking of recording her work and achievements in some way, it would be my privilege to share my memories of her with you, so please don't hesitate to get in touch.
With fond memories,
Jo Russell

My thoughts and sympathies to the family. I met Naomi back in the 80's when we fostered a little boy from Korea. Her support and love she gave to every child who she ever saw. She will be missed.

Our deepest sympathies to Mrs. Bronstein's family. I was fortunate to meet most of the family on a very memorable trip to Melissa's home in Montreal as a student many years ago. The entire family is a blessing and I know they will come even closer together in this time of need. Be strong and love each other. Thinking of all of you.

During the years surrounding 1960,I would come across Naomi on Van Horne Ave. near De Vimy Ave..We would walk to school together, or at other times skate at the pond at Pratt Park, near our homes. She was, even at that time independant and strong. Our paths went in different directions, but years later,I had learned of her wonderful work with children and that photo of her after that tragic crash,is forever etched in my mind.I continued to follow her advocacy afterwards and always felt a sense of pride in having known her and her many accomplishments. She was truly a great women.
My deepest sympathy goes out to the Bronstein/Segal family. I have a heavy heart today.I mourn your loss and the loss to those she touched through the years.I was one of those.

To Naomi's children, grandchildren and friends and especially to Tillie.
What sadness the news of Naomi's passing brings. Time and life took us in different directions causing us to lose touch with each other over the years. Even though we had not communicated in a very long time the loss is still profound. There is however comfort is knowing that because she touched so many - she will continue to live on in the many thousands of hearts that love her.
We became best friends from the moment we met standing in line on the first day of school at Montreal High. That first year Naomi somehow convinced the music director/teacher that he needed us to help bolster the glee club (which was only open to senior students)for an upcoming glee club event off of the schoool grounds. Incredibly he agreed and the school principle granted us leave with special permission so that we could participate in what would culminate into a Saturday night concert. So there we were cramming to learn all of the lyrics. One of the songs was Climb Every Mountain. It became Naomi's song. Reflecting back on our friendship I realize that she eventually lived the words I heard her sing so often. "A dream that will need all the love you can give, every day of your life for as long as you live". Once she found her calling Naomi lived her dream of helping children, every day of her life, for as long as she lived. God Bless.

To the entire Segal and Bronstein Family,
Words cannot express the fond memories we have, of times past. Naomi was a role model for all people, everywhere, and despite the challenges of having to share her with the rest of the world, you have all been very blessed to have shared her journey, and legacy.

In the late nineteen eighties, which is a lifetime ago when you are yet to reach forty, our family and the younger Bronsteins saw each other virtually daily for almost 2 years. It is with great sorrow that my brother Quan and I saw Naomi's children again today two decades later. The love they displayed for each other is certainly what Naomi would have wanted as family was always important to her even though her calling made being everywhere at once a challenge.
I am thankful to Naomi and Herb for helping bring my two sisters and my brother to Canada and am sure thousands of others benefited from her humanitarian acts.

Within minutes of meeting Naomi for the first time, at the countryhouse, I found myself supporting a Vietnamese orphan on my shoulders, with my brother Dave doing the same for the little girl's twin sister. Priceless. Naomi was irreplaceable.

I remember when we were kids...it was summertime and we were up at the country house. Naomi had this great idea to sacrifice my younger sister Frani to the gods !! Of course, it was harmless...but we put Frani in tribal
dress...and danced around her ...we laughed and our parents thought we were a little crazy..perhaps we were, but we laughed and laughed..
Love,
Cousin Renee

It is so sad that this fine lady passed in her prime. With her special skills, talents and compassion, she could have done so much more for so many. A huge loss. A great role model. Condolences to all who knew and loved her.
Her biography should be written as an instruction in empathy and to raise funds as she would have desired.

Dear Bronstein family,
Naomi brought me to Canada in April 1975. I had the pleasure of meeting her in 1998 where she met my son whom she said looked just like me when she brought me to my adoptive parents 23 years ago.
May the memories of Naomi warm your heart forever.
She is a hero, my hero, everyone's hero.

My thoughts are with all of Naomi's large family. I have fond memories of her passion, conviction and energy. She saw no barriers when she thought a child could benefit from the expertise of the Shriners Hospital for Children (Canada). She was a great advocate and a real humanitarian. May she rest in peace.

Mama Omi, an amazing grandmother and will always be there in our hearts. Fond memory: when she dressed up as a waitress for my great grandmother's 90th birthday. She continuously tried to pour water into her glass and my great grandmother was getting annoyed. It was quite a while until she realized that it was her daughter who had just flown in from Guatamala to wish her a happy birthday.

What a lady! What a human being! Even though she was only a mere few years older than I, when I was much younger it felt she was much older because of the responsibilities she took on. I remember reading about her in the newspapers when she was just starting out on her adoptions to save the children. My deepest condolences to her family to all those she had helped throughout the years.
