Naomi Finkelstein Obituary
Born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Rabbi Jacob and Regina Rappaport Glassman, she was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and was a member of the Beth Shalom Congregation. Before retirement, she was employed by the Lackawanna County Work Release Program.
Naomi was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt who enjoyed cooking and being with family.
Also surviving are two sons, Dr. Jerome Finkelstein and wife, Polly, Northville, Mich.; and Gary Lee, Scranton; and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sheri Finkelstein; and a son, Barry Finkelstein; a sister, Muriel Bodek; and brothers, Kenneth, Monroe, Aaron and Seymour Glassman.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore. Interment will be in Dalton Jewish Cemetery. Shiva will be observed in the community room at Webster Towers, 500 N. Webster Ave., Scranton, Sunday, from 7 to 9 p.m., and Monday from 2 to 4 p.m.
The family will receive friends Sunday morning in the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Family Service, 615 Jefferson Ave. 204, Scranton, PA 18510. In the memo, please direct to the Sheri and Barry Finkelstein Fund.
