Naomi June Crist Pierson

Naomi June Crist Pierson, of Kingfisher, passed away Friday, July 17, 2009, at Deaconess Hospital, Oklahoma City.She was born June 12, 1921, in Glenpool, Okla. Her father was Francis Holt Crist and mother was Madeline McAlister Crist. She had two brothers and one sister, Jack Crist of Los Banos, Calif., and Francis (Freddie) Crist of Fairfax and Deana Jo of Kansas City, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.In Oklahoma, as a youngster, June lived in Loyal, Glenpool, Seminole and Fairfax, due to her father's employment with Skelly Oil Company. In Fairfax, she married Don Clement and they had two daughters. In 1952, the family moved to Santurce, Puerto Rico, where she worked as an executive secretary. She married Alberto Boria and they had one daughter. Mr. Boria preceded her in death. She returned to the states in 1963 and eventually moved to Kingfisher with her daughter, Julia. She met and married Bill Pierson and worked for and retired from Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Pierson also preceded her in death.Survivors are daughters, Cristi Ann Clement of Marble Falls, Texas, Vicki Donna Henderson of Edmond and Julia Madeline Boria of Guthrie. Grandchildren are Tim Reese, Jeff Reese, Amber Armstrong and Alicia Jarman, all of Edmond, and Pam Reese Merrick of Tulsa. Survivors also include five great-grandsons, Josh Merrick of Tulsa, Brandon Reese, Christopher Reese, Nickolas Reese and Jacob Jarman of Edmond and two great-granddaughters, Brittany Reese of Oklahoma City and Talor Merrick of Tulsa. June was an avid baseball enthusiast, a loyal fan of the Atlanta Braves and kept her own scorebooks for over 50 years. She had a green thumb, enjoyed tending her flowers and had a special talent with African violets. She was a friend of the environment, supported Nature Conservancy, Wildlife Federation and other similar organizations. She especially was interested in animal welfare causes and supported various animal shelter/rescue organizations.
