Nathan Sewell Obituary

NATHAN SEWELL, JR. Nathan Russell Sewell, Jr., 88, of Greenville, SC, passed into eternal life April 16, 2011. He was a former resident of Lansdale from 1963 until 1991. He was the husband of Virginia A. Sewell, who preceded him in death in 2002. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, he was the son of the late Nathan R. Sewell and Frances Middlebrooks Sewell. Mr. Sewell was a retired Navy veteran, having served in the South Pacific in World War II. He graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in ceramic engineering and received a Master's degree from Missouri School of Mines. He was employed by American Olean Tile company as a research engineer in ceramics, retiring in 1988. He was an accomplished pianist. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia S. and Andrew J. Yanishak of Sellersville and Natalie S. and Daniel Tyson of Greer, SC; two grandsons, Andrew J. Yanishak III and his wife, Charity, of Mechanicsville, VA and Reginald Wollaston Titmas III of Greer, SC; two great-granddaughters, Emma Sophie and Claire Elizabeth Yanishak; and a sister-in-law, Ann Tappan of Maryville, TN. The memorial service was held Tuesday April 19, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 200 W. Washington Street, Greenville, SC 29601 or Interim Hospice, 16 Hyland Road, Greenville, SC 29615.
