FRAIETTA, Nathaniel Ryan
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nathaniel Ryan Fraietta on January 25, 2016 at the age of 33 years.
He is remembered with love by his mother Deborah, father Dominic, sister Erica and best friend Sarah, along with his loving extended family and many friends.
Predeceased by his grandfather Albert Vanoni.
Prayers will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. at Santa Maria Goretti Parish, 9110 – 110 Avenue, Edmonton, where Reverend George Purmadathil CFIC will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 29, 2016. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum.
The family wished to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Cross Cancer Institute and Grey Nuns Hospital for their kindness and support shown to Nathaniel.
Memorial donations in Nathaniel's honour may be made directly to the Department of Oncology, University of Alberta – reference: Dr. Quincy Chu, Soft Tissue Sarcoma Research.

I will always remember Nathan. Our time spent together at O'Leary and then at Concordia. I spent many evenings watching him play hockey for Concordia, cheering him on. He always loved a good laugh and a night out with his friends. My heart breaks for his family and close friends. He will be forever remembered and never forgotten. May he rest in peace... I only knew Nathan in Junior high at St. Cecilia. We played volleyball together. I remember Mr. Fontaine used to use Nathan as the example of how to serve with perfection. He was mighty short, but mighty strong, focused and dedicated. It's disheartening to hear of people passing after you've lost touch with them, but it's through his family and friends that Nathans legacy and life will carry on. Rest in peace, Nathan, and deepest sympathies to those family and friends who will be without such a wonderful person in their lives
