Margaret Wedell Obituary
She was born April 5, 1924 in Chicago to Owen and Bridget (Hopkins) O'Malley. On September 4, 1948 she married Robert C. Wedell in Chicago.
She was a resident of Barrington for many years before retiring to Bermuda Dunnes, California. She and her husband relocated to Marengo where they resided for the last 10 years. She was a proud homemaker who loved her family and friends dearly. She was a lifelong Cubs fan.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert; her children, Robert Emmett Wedell, James (Susan) Wedell, Mary (Anthony) Ficarelli, Nancy (Timothy) Brocker, and Julie (Todd) O'Connor; her grandchildren, Colleen, James, and Joseph Wedell, Meghan Ficarelli, Erin, Kristin, and Caitlin Brocker, and Thomas, Kathryn, Patrick, and Brendan O'Connor; her brother, Michael (Jeanne) O'Malley; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Catherine (William) Heffernan.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm on Thursday, September 20, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo. A wake service will be at 7pm. Visitation will continue from 9:30am until prayers are said at 10am on Friday, September 21 at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 405 Lake Zurich Rd., Barrington, IL 60010.

Hi Bob:
I wanted to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your Mom. I do not believe that I ever had the pleasure of meeting her, but she must have been a wonderful, loving, and generous mother. I know that these next few days will be difficult for you and your family, but remember all of the great memories that you had with your Mom during her life as that will provide you with treasures that you will always have and be able to hold on to forever and nobody can ever take away from you!

Dear Robert and family, I was saddened to read about Margaret's passing. She was a lovely lady and I enjoyed seeing her in the doctor's office. God has now taken her to His home to live for all eternity! My thoughts and prayers are with you all!
