Nellie Stroud Argyle 1917 ~ 2005 Our beloved mother, grandmother and grandma great, Nellie Stroud Argyle, was reunited with her sweetheart again; they were only separated for two weeks. Nellie died Friday, February 11, in West Valley City; she was surrounded by her loving family. Born November 12, 1917 in Butte, Montana, the daughter of Thomas Alvin and Eva Smith Rock. Married David Leo Argyle on October 3, 1936; the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away on January 28, 2005 Nellie is now at peace with her beloved husband, daughter, granddaughter and many family members. She was loved by all who met her. She had the capacity to love everyone. We were all so blessed to have her in our lives. As sweethearts, Nellie and David served many hours doing Temple work. Nellie served many church callings and was a stalwart member of the LDS Church. Survived by daughter, Arlene (Martin) Clark; son, David (Janice) Argyle; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grand-children. Preceded in death by husband, David; daughter, Janice Weeks; granddaughter, Marlene George; brothers, Tom, Walter and Al Stroud; sisters, Beth Bott and Delores Sartori. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Hunter 29th Ward Chapel, 3745 South 6400 West. Friends and family may visit Tuesday, 6-8 p.m., at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Wednesday at the church, 10 - 10:45 a.m. Interment: Bountiful City Cemetery.

I LOVE NELLIE AND DAVE, THEY WERE SO GOOD ME FOR SO MANY YEARS. THEY TOOK ME TO SALT LAKE EACH MORNING IN THAT BIG GREEN PONTIAC.THEY TRULY WERE AN INFLUENCE FOR GOOD IN LIFE. I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THEM SO OFTEN IN ALL THE YEARS THAT HAVE PASSED SO RAPIDLY. NELLIE WAS ALWAYS SO PRETTY AND SO STYLISHLY PUT TOGETHER, I THOUGHT SHE WAS SO PRETTY. DAVE WAS A QUIET GENTLE GIANT. I WILL BE GLAD WHEN I MEET THEM AGAIN.

Grandma, I am glad you and Grandpa were seperated for only a short time, thank you for all of my great memories and for all the self confidence you gave me. I will cherish all the time I spent with you.

Grandma, I know you only wanted to be with Grandpa, but I was not ready for you to leave. I'm sorry to be so selfish. I love you Grams and hope you are at peace. Thank you for all of the talks and understanding. You have given me a life time of memories and you will always be a part of me.
