She was born Aug. 7, 1917 in Oscar to James Mosgrove and Annie Mary (Reed) Shannon. Mrs. Cogley was a retired invoice recorder for the former Montgomery Wards, Kittanning, for 19 years. She was a member of the Dayton First Church of God. A resident of Echo, all of her life, she also enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include one daughter, Shirley (Cogley) Baker of Kittanning RD5; three grandsons, Craig Troutman, Kenneth Troutman and Mark Troutman; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ivan "Tobe" Cogley, whom she married March 23, 1942 and who died Aug. 1, 1999; one daughter, Judy McKay, who died Dec. 23, 1972; four brothers, Charles, Joseph, Harry and Fred Shannon; three sisters, Helen Dunmire and Mertie Casker and Annabelle Shannon, who died in infancy; and one great-granddaughter. COGLEY - Friends of Nellie M. (Shannon) Cogley, 85, of Kittanning RD5 (Echo, Wayne Township), who died May 23, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc., 724 Main St., Rural Valley, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with her pastor, the Rev. John A. Milliron, officiating. Burial will be in the Salem (Hill's) United Church of Christ Cemetery, Kittanning RD5. Arrangements by Carson/Boyer.
