C. Alvin Light, 99, of 318 Messiah Circle, Mechanicsburg, PA, died Friday, November 4, 2005 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was born February 21, 1906 in Syner, PA, son of the late Menno Light and Elizabeth Kreider.
He was a retired welder, founder and former owner of Light's Welding, Palmyra.
He was a member of Messiah Village Brethren In Christ, Mechanicsburg. He enjoyed gardening and playing the organ.
He is survived by his wife, Velma Hoffman Light of Mechanicsburg, PA; daughter, Eleanor L., wife of Jay R. Hess of Greencastle, PA; son, Earl W., husband of Kathryn E. Light of Palmyra, PA; daughter, Jean E. McFarlane of St. Petersburg, FL; daughter, Jane E., wife of Carl Raser of Claremont, CA; brother, Walter R. Light of Lewisburg, PA; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Verna Doutrich Light and his second wife, Sarah Nye Light.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2005, at Palmyra Brethren in Christ, 626 W. Cherry Street, Palmyra, with viewing from 10 a.m. until service time. Rev. C. Ronald Burgard will officiate. Burial in Gravel Hill Cemetery, N. Londonderry Twp.
