We, the family and sister of the late Ellen "Nellie" Downey would like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation for all of the love, kindness and thoughtful gestures that have been bestowed upon us during the time of bereavement. Our grateful thanks to all those who attended our home and mum's Mass, and to those who travelled overseas and long distances to be with us, especially those from mum's home land of Knockfola, Gweedore Thank you to all of those who gave Mass and sympathy cards and floral tributes, who sent letters and telephoned. Our special heartfelt thanks to our very kind friends, neighbours, relatives who helped us at the wake and brought food and refreshments, your kindness will never be forgotten. To mum's home carers Rene and Annmarie, thank you both for your support and friendship to mum. Words cannot express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to our close family friend Fr. Chris McGuinness for the wonderful, spiritual and up lifting Mass and support that helped us immensely in our time of sorrow, it was very much appreciated, thank you Fr. Chris. A sincere and special thanks to Fr. Gerry Sweeney who supported us at the time of mum's death and for officiating at mum's Mass. Grateful and sincere thanks to Fr. Alan Ward, Army Chaplin, Finner Camp, Ballyshannon who travelled to be with us and who officiated at the Mass. Extra special thanks to Stephen , Sophie, Jacqueline and Phyllis for the beautiful music. A special word of thanks to Fr. Neil McGoldrick PP, Fr. Donnacha Boyle, Knockfola and to Fr. Michael Porter who supported mum in recent years. We take this opportunity to convey our sincere thanks to the medical team of Now Doc and Ambulance crew who attended mum before she died. We wish to sincerely thank the Gardaí Síochana for their sensitivity and help, to Eddie and Shaun Murphy, Funeral Directors and the grave diggers for their respectful and dignified manner in arranging funeral arrangements and to the management and staff of An Grianan Hotel for their sensitive manner and beautiful Funeral meal. It would be impossible to thank everyone individually and we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere thanks and appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. May God Bless you all. "Go mbeannaí Dia thú"
Month's Mass will be held on Friday, 7th October at 7.30 p.m. in St. Aengus Church, Burt.
