Nellie Marie Aucoin Gros

Nellie Marie Aucoin Gros, 87, a resident of Slaughter, LA, died on Thursday, June 18, 2015. She was the former owner of Gros Hardware Feed and Seed of Zachary for over 40 years. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc in Zachary on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 5pm until 8pm and then on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Zachary from 12noon until funeral services at 1pm, conducted by Rev. M. Jeffery Bayhi. Burial will Greenoaks Cemetery in Baton Rouge. She is survived by four sons: Brent Gros of Zachary, Darryl Gros and wife Terry of New Jersey, Roy Gros and wife Laura of Zachary, and Durwood Gros and wife Karen of Central, LA; daughter-in-law Diana Gros; one sister, Jeni-Su Cambre and her husband Butch of Slaughter; twelve grandchildren: Suzette Stoks and her husband Jerome Kuntscher, Cammie Gros, Bryan Gros and his wife Lisa, Toby Gros and his wife Rose, Heidi Cocuzza and her husband Mike, Roy "Buddy" Gros Jr. and his wife Kristie, Shawn Gros and his wife Brittany, Nicole Cabrera and her husband Asher, Christina Gros, Ashley Gros, Annette Boykin, and Michelle Moll; 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Whitney Paul Gros; son, Whitney Paul Gros Jr.; parents Barbara Kelly and Camille Aucoin; and brother Camille Aucoin Jr. Pallbearers will be Brent Gros, Darryl Gros, Roy Gros, Durwood Gros, Buddy Gros, Shawn Gros, and Bryan Gros. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the St. John's Altar Society. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
