Funeral services for Mr. Nelson Badeaux will be held at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas on Monday, June 15, at 10 a.m. Interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Monsignor Robert Romero will conduct the services. Mr. Badeaux, 80, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009, at Opelousas General Health System. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. He was part owner of Badeaux Citgo. Nelson was an avid hunter. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Trahan Badeaux, of Opelousas; son, Ricky Louis Badeaux, of Opelousas; daughters, Patricia Bellow and her husband, Ray, of Opelousas, and Jeanette Canchola and her husband, Harold, of Baton Rouge; and a brother, Ned Joseph Badeaux, of Port Barre. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Rachel Franks, Chad Bellow, Derek Canchola and Taylor Canchola; and great-grandchildren, Shelby Constantine, Logan Constantine and Cameron Franks. He was preceded in death by his father, Meonce Badeaux Sr.; mother, Lelia Lalonde Badeaux; and brothers Dudley J. Badeaux and Meonce Badeaux Jr. The pallbearers will be Ned Badeaux, Ray Bellow, James Franks, Darold Canchola, Derek Canchola and Taylor Canchola. Honorary pallbearers are Chad Bellow, Logan Constantine and Cameron Franks. The family has requested that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home on Sunday, June 14, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home on Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
