Nicholas BIAMONTE Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 3, 2021.
Passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, August 30, 2021, at the age of 65. Beloved husband of Nancy (Canal) Biamonte for 37 years. Dearly loved father of Carly Biamonte (Kevin Dion), Nicholas Biamonte (Holly D'Onofrio), and Jonathan Biamonte (Jessica Salfi). Cherished Papa of Ayla, Riley, and Van 'Chico'. Devoted son of Nick and Val Biamonte and son-in-law of Hubert (the late Bertilla) Van de Laar. Dear brother of Ralph (Susie) Biamonte and Tina (Eric) Weaver and brother-in-law of Angelo and Brenda Canal, Danny, and Nancy Canal. Uncle Nicky will be sadly missed by his nieces Julie, Kristin, Felicia and Samantha and his nephews Andrew, Richard, Ronnie, and Geoffrey. Lover of all things hockey, especially the Bruins, Nick captained the Jr. B Canucks in '74-'75, following that he traveled playing in Belgium, El Paso, and Red Deer before returning home to Sunday mornings and whacky Wednesdays. He worked with family for most of his life at Cataract Bowl, the lumber yard, and most recently at Mick and Angelo's where he was known at Nick 'the tender' aka Volkov. Nick was a past president the LBMAO and member of the Optimist Club. He will always be remembered for his infectious smile and contagious laughter when he cracked dad jokes, which he was the absolute king of. Whether it was relaxing afternoons in the backyard with his wife, chasing around his grandchildren, or serving you a drink at Mick's, Nick always took care of those around him. He was the life of the party, a gracious host, and enjoyed every day to the fullest, especially during Saturday night socials where you could hear Bruce Springsteen playing in the background and finishing the night with a bicchierini di brandy. Dad loved his family and coached many of his children's sports teams, teaching them how to catch, skate, and swing a bat. He also taught them how to fix things around the house, even if they were the ones who broke it. Nick was an inspiration for how to enjoy life to everyone who surrounded him and will be truly missed by so many. Respecting the restrictions of COVID-19, including the requirement for face coverings and maximum occupancy levels, friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A private Funeral Service will take place, with cremation to follow and interment at a later date in Fairview Cemetery. In memory of Nick, donations to Hospice Niagara, to honour his late mother-in-law Bertilla would be appreciated by his family. Online condolences at pattersonfuneralhome.com

Nick was a great bartender and friend. He always new my dad wanted his cours light draft and for me my rootbeer. I'll truly miss his charisma and ability to always turn a sour day of work into a fantastic night at the bar. You're a legend Nick. I know he's serving drinks to all our lost loved ones in heaven now. May he rest in peace and much love and prayers to his family in this sad time.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Nick's passing. I had the pleasure of playing hockey both with Nick and against him in the Gourmet Hockey League. He always had the ability to score the big goal when it was needed most. In the dressing room he had the best stories and always brought laughter to the room. Nick will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
RIP Nick.

It was with shock and surprise that I heard of Nick's passing. We never really hung out very much but we shared our company many times laughing, joking, and just making memories. Nick and I would catch each others eye while sitting in the Queens and that was the start of the laughter. Rest in Peace my friend. To Nick's family kindly accept my deepest condolences and sympathies.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Nick Biamonte. I played little league baseball with Nicky way back in the mid '60s. He was gentile as a kid and a gentleman at his respective businesses. Peace and tranquillity be with you as you transition to the universe.

It was with great sadness and shock that I learned of Nick's passing. I always enjoyed being around Nick. He will greatly missed at Wednesday golf as well as always. He was absolutely hilarious and gave some of the all-time greatest one-liners I have ever heard. My favourite was when we were golfing and Nick teed off wearing sandals and someone said hey Nick you'd play better in golf shoes. Nick slowly picked up his teed and turned to us and said - we are not taking any suggestions today - I howled!

Nick was a pioneer and the first to bring food into the hockey changeroom that became the start of the legendary GHL (Gourmet Hockey League). Nick golfed with me the day before his recent 65th Birthday and came back to my house for a little soiree' afterwards. Being generous as he was, he brought bread, Supersatta and stinky cheese even though food was provided. I am so thankful that I had washed and returned his food container back to him prior to his unfortunate passing, because I know that the next time I see him, I would be walking thru the Pearly gates only to find Nick on the other side and he would say something to me like ......... "hey Fatso where's my Tupperware?". He will be missed dearly and I loved him so much. Nick was the Best

Nick was one of the finest humans I've ever had the privilege of meeting. He was funny, generous and kind. I worked with him at the lumber yard and I fell in love with the entire Biamonte family. Nick touched so many lives. My heart is absolutely broken. This is a huge loss especially for his family but also for friends like me who truly loved and respected this special man.
