Nicholas D'Ambrosia Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 8, 2025.
Nicholas "Nicky" Alfred D'Ambrosia, born on August 29, 1972, in Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away on April 10, 2025, in Homestead, Florida. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Nicky was a devoted husband and best friend to Greta D'Ambrosia (née Sartoni) and a cherished member of a large and loving family. He was the beloved child of Ronald Nicholas D'Ambrosia and Judith D'Ambrosia, and also held a special bond with his stepmother, Aileen D'Ambrosia. Nicky shared strong sibling ties with his brothers Ronnie, Joseph, his sister Abigail (Carroll), and three stepsisters Jennifer Gauthier, Jessica Gauthier, and Amanda (Miller) Gauthier. He leaves behind many adoring nieces and nephews.

As an Air Force Veteran, Nicky devoted 33 years of his life to serving his country, retiring just last year as a Senior Master Sergeant. He served multiple tours of duty in the Middle East and Afghanistan, and was held in the highest esteem by his fellow servicemen and women for his hard work and dedication to duty.

He was also a proud member of the MFC Motorcycle Club, where he was affectionately known as "Twister" among his biker family. For the last three years of his life, he rode with passion and camaraderie, fully embracing the brotherhood that came with being part of a Motorcycle Club.

Nicky was a true gear head whose passion for mechanics was unmatched. Whether he was tearing apart the engine of his new Corvette to squeeze out more horsepower or meticulously rebuilding his prized 1969 Firebird, Nicky approached every project with precision and enthusiasm. He recently modified the front end of his brand new Harley-Davidson Breakout motorcycle with a Road Glide fairing in a way that even Harley-Davidson would have admired. Nicky's garage was more than just a workspace. It was a sanctuary where creativity and innovation met craftsmanship.

Nicky's legacy lives on not only through his mechanical creations but also through the relationships he maintained with the same level of dedication and care. Those fortunate enough to know him will always carry in their hearts his selfless and optimistic outlook. If there was a problem-whether it was your car making that weird noise or how to plan for retirement-Nicky had a solution. He was a walking manual for living a purposeful life. He didn't leave us that handbook, but he showed us that with a strong sense of duty, determination, ingenuity, and a lot of love, we can always ride on.

May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his loss.

A Funeral will be held on May 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at South Florida National Cemetery 6501 FL-7 followed by a Celebration of Life from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM at Redland Koi Gardens 25600 Southwest 147th Ave.

Rocky, Aileen and family,
It's never easy to say goodbye to a loved one. Especially when it's our children. After reading his obituary, I saw a side of Nick that showed me exactly what kind of adult he became. Someone who loved our country and fought for it. A man who knew what he wanted and did it. An avid motorcyclist and mechanic. His love of cars. He left this world way to early, but his memory will forever be in our hearts. Fly high Nick!

Your Aunt Sheila and I have heavy hearts as we remember and mourn the passing of our beloved Nick. His spirit, laughter, and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Nick was more than a nephew, he was a bright light in our lives, always ready with a smile.

Though his time with us was far too short, the memories we shared will live on forever. We will carry his love in our hearts and honor his legacy in the way we live and love each other.

Rest peacefully, Nick. You will always be missed, but never forgotten.

Sincere condolences to the family. From first meeting Nicky, his enthusiastic mind with mechanics became apparent, what shined through even greater was his love for his family. My heart goes out to his family on their loss!!
