Penny and all your family,
I did not know your son and when I met you the other day, I had just found out who he was. I know the pain. There is nothing like losing a child and all the "firsts" that you shall have to endure, but know that time does take most of the pain. Do not fill your days with "What if I had onlys?" The kind of young man he became is obvious from all I have read about him here, and you come from a close family of love and caring. Surround yourself with good memories and know that only a caring mom would have followed up as you did when he did not come home. Sometimes God tests us in ways we do not understand;in ways we wish He did not, but life's like that. Much love and many hugs. If you need to talk Mom to Mom, I'm always available. Love

Penny,Mary,Linda & families, please accept my deepest sympathies at this sad time. I only knew Nick by sight at the games, but he showed great leadership to all his team mates, including my grandson Jordan Hanscom. He appeared to be a wonderful young man. My thoughts, prayers, and heart go out to Nick and his family. You should be so proud of your son, he was trluy an amazing person. He was always stood up for what he knew was right, and what he believed in. He made a very big impact on my life, and millions of others. Even though his life was taken too soon, he will be remembered until the end of days. Nicholas will forever be loved by many. I can't put into words how sorry I am for your lose. I never met Nick but my son Justin told me he was a great young man. It is so hard to understand why is journey was cut so short, just know that he will always be with you. Keep your heart open for signs that he is still watching over you.
