Age 83 on September 26, 2018 of Carrick. Beloved husband of Mary Ann (Hackwelder) Markowitz; loving father of Nick (Laura), Jr., Stephen J. and John (Colleen) Markowitz; brother of the late Marie Winovich and Joseph F. Markowitz; also survived by nieces and nephews. Nick was in the Army Reserves for nine years during the Korean War, a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout Leader for 20 years, Electrician for J&L and LTV for 41 years, a member of the "SOAR" Group along with being a Square Dancer for "Happy Go Lucky" for 23 years, a volunteer for the Carrick Meals On Wheels and a member of the Whitehall AARP. Family and friends received on Friday from 2-8 p.m., in the READSHAW FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1503 Brownsville Road, Carrick. Funeral Prayers Saturday at 9:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., in the Holy Apostles Parish St. Basil Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank at www.pittsburghfoodbank.org. Send condolences to,
