Nicholas Montalto, Jr., 72

SHREWSBURY - Nicholas "Nick" Montalto, Jr., 72 of Shrewsbury passed away Friday May 5, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.



Nick was born in Boston, son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Congami) Montalto.

He served his country proudly during the Vietnam War with the United States Air Force being honorably discharged in 1967.

Nick had been employed as a flooring specialist for the Lowe's Corporation. Previously he and his wife Rene, owned and operated J.J. O'Rourke's Restaurant, in Northborough, for many years.

He leaves his wife Maureen Coyne; his children, Michael T. Coyne of Worcester, Lisa Murphy of Lowell, Cheryl Montalto of Stoneham, Michelle L. Kreell and her husband John of Westborough, Nicole M. Jimenez and her husband Henry of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Drew, Samuel, Jackson, and James, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four siblings, Jack, Joseph, Lena and Josephine.



Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Nick's family on Saturday June 10, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 am in the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Immediately following the service, will be a celebration of life at The Knights of Columbus, 206 S. Quinsigamond Avenue., Shrewsbury, MA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (stjude.org).
