Nicholas Orwat

Nicholas A. “Nick” Orwat, 32, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 19, 2020. Born August 1, 1987, son of Dawn D. (Ouimet) Orwat and the late Peter A. Orwat, he was a lifelong Chicopee resident. Nick was a graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School, Class of 2006, and continued his education in the HVAC field. A member of Life Point Church, he was a carpenter with Evergreen Construction Co. Nick was a loving and doting father to Liam, who was the center of his life. He loved cars, especially Mustangs, and enjoyed BMX and motorcross racing. Nick had so many friends, was a great storyteller, and loved life. He was predeceased in 2019 by his father, Peter A. Orwat, and recently by his grandfather, John Ouimet, and uncle, Joseph Ouimet. Nick is survived by his beloved mother, Dawn D. Orwat; cherished son Liam and his mother Molly Keegan, loving brothers, Jordan E. Orwat and Jeremiah J. Orwat, all of Chicopee; maternal grandmother, Star Ouimet of Chicopee, paternal grandparents, Edward Orwat of South Hadley and Leona Orwat of Amherst; best friend, Albert Weibel, of Chicopee; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral service for Nick will be held Monday at 10:30AM in Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery, South Hadley.
