Nicholas F. Santamaria, 91, passed away, Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel, NJ. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he moved to Old Bridge 12 years ago. He was a United States postal worker for over 35 years, retiring in 1985; a US Army veteran of World War II; and a member of the VFW in NY and NJ. Nicholas enjoyed sports, especially bowling. He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine Santamaria, and is survived by his daughters, Angela Centofante and Louise Santamaria; his grandchildren, Nicholas J. Santamaria, Frances Katz, and Nicholas Centofante; and his great grandchildren, Nicholas, Joseph, & Isabella Santamaria, Sydney & Jason Katz, and Nicholas & Samantha Centofante. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge, NJ. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 10am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 225 6th Ave., Brooklyn, NY. Interment will follow to Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn.
