Nicholas Silano Jr. Financial advisor, loving husband and father, 50 Nicholas Silano Jr., 50, of Cranford, N.J., died at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on June 30, 2015. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, July 6, 2015, at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church, Scotch Plains, N.J., at 10:30 a.m. Interment is at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, N.J. The visitation will be on Sunday, July 5, 2015, at the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Ave., Scotch Plains, N.J. 07076 from 3 to 7 p.m. Nicholas was born in Newark, N.J., and raised in Scotch Plains. He lived in Washington, D.C., and settled in Cranford in 2003. Nicholas graduated from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in 1982. He also graduated from University of Scranton, and received his M.B.A. in marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Nicholas was a financial advisor for the past 10 years, and has been with Edward Jones in Englewood Cliffs, N.J., for four years. He was an avid N.Y. Mets and Washington Redskins fan. He loved his family and enjoyed coaching his son's baseball team. Nicholas was predeceased by his father, Nicholas Silano Sr. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his two children, Joseph N. and Grace E.; his mother, Rose; his sister, Laura; his mother-in-law, Sandy Callegher; father-in-law, Angelo Callegher, and many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made on behalf of the children to Nancy Callegher, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
