Nicholas R. Winters

Nicholas "Nick" R. Winters, 29, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Tuesday November 2, 2010 at La Porte Hospital. He was born October 13, 1981 in Wabash, Indiana, the son of Roger Winters and Kimberly (Gatwood) Winters. Nicholas worked as a personal trainer for Fitness Plus. He attended the First United Methodist Church in Michigan City, IN. Nick was a power lifter; he had set many records and world records. Nick was a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed drawing and doing art. On October 20, 2007, in Michigan City, IN, he married Cheryl Miller Winters who survives. He is also survived by his parents, Roger and Kimberly Winters of North Manchester, IN.; brother; William Robert Winters of North Manchester, IN; grandmother, Carolyn Winters of Cincinnati, OH and grandfather, Bill Gatwood of AL. Nicholas was preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Gatwood, grandfather, Robert Winters. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Friday, November 5, 2010 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Saturday, November 6, 2010 from 12:00 pm, until time of services. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday November 6, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tim Prowse officiating. Cremation will take place.
